Default 16th Machine Gun Co.

Hey All,

I'm doing some research on the above formation for a documentary and it seems the company diary is no longer avail. online fr. the Archives. About a year ago it WAS there, but it has somehow disappeared. Any ideas as to how I could further pursue this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Dan

Let me check for you. Sometimes LAC combines war diaries or if the unit was renamed they place the files under the new name. I'll check for you and post up what I can find.

Your right. The files aren't there.

But the information is still held at LAC. I would call them and ask if the files are still on line. Next option is to go to LAC to see the files or hire a private researcher to photograph the files

Hi Temujin,

Thanks for the leads. Like I said, they WERE on-line - weird. I'll give them a shout and see what shakes down.
Thanks again,

Dan

Default 16th CMGC CEF

Hello,

Just an FYI. The 16th CMGC war diaries are still listed and available on the LAC site. They are listed under '16th Canadian Machine Company'.

I've reported the problem (incorrect name) to webservices@lac-bac.gc.ca

Hopefully it will be corrected on LAC's website

EDIT: LAC have notified me that their now looking into it and will get back to me as soon as possible.
