Re: Kennedy

B755186 is almost certainly an invalid number. The last known block of numbers started at B622001 and while it's open ended, unlikely that it got that high. Additionally, everything beyond B400001 was Reserve force (conscripts) and none of these are known to have made it overseas until early 1945.

In spite of the fact that it's pretty clearly the initial J, Temujin's theory on the 'correct' number is plausible.

Of course your right Kevin. I didn't think to review the Svc Numbers list for the maximum number.

So, it was probably recorded incorrectly on this document....But, the "J", looks pretty clear, unless that was recorded in correctly also. My find is for a F. B. Kennedy...........BUT having said that, I have found at least ONE of the Initials on the Black Watch records are incorrect......so back to the search

Thanks for looking at these also Kevin

I sent the A&D pages to you Barry for another set of eyes. :) Remember that the A&D is written down from scrap of papers that another guy wrote down during the initial interview at the hospital. So several places to introduce errors.

Thanks....I'll take a look at it. Been trying to sort out the "last few" on the list, and having NO luck, so maybe this will help

Cheers

This has helped. I was able to confirm some "other" ones on the list, like Cuiman. You could see the "n" faintly on the page. Just helps to confirm I found the right man. Going thru them now

I have him into Rennes 23 June and out 30 June to the Stalag so I don't think he is dead at that point. I suspect someone may have reversed the month and day from 10-06 to 06-10 in the official records. Service number and name match up so I suspect an error in transcription. Unless we have another George Rosta around.

I want to thank Temujin and others in filling in the blanks for my Canadians at Rennes. Great work all!

Default Re: Peters

Peters was my grandfather, his full name was Ernest Dominic Peters. Iíve been searching for more information on him and have been led to this website. From what I know he was part of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and was captured with a major leg injury. He was released from a POW camp at some point. I was hoping someone could maybe point me in the right direction as to where I may find more info on him as it is hard to come by.

Have you ordered his military records from LAC in Ottawa? That is the ďfirst stepĒ in trying to discover more info.
