Default Hello and Thank You

Hello and Thank You for letting me join.
I have always had an interest in Canadaís involvement in the Second World War. I have a particular interest in the Essex Scottish as my great uncle served with them.
I have many hrs on the web and this sire before joining today looking for information on Goch-Calcar Road battle. 19-21 Feb 45 . This is were my uncle was killed.
Can anyone point me in the direction to find the war diaries for the Essex Scottish for this time period?

War Diaries for the Essex Scottish Regiment are located at LAC in Ottawa. You can view them their. I also understand the University of Windsor has a copy for viewing. Hereís a link to all the War Diaries that LAC holds

Youíve been to LAC in Ottawa and didnít get to see the War Diaries??? As far as I know, these specific diaries (the dates your looking for) are not on line (yet) except for the Normandy months (Jun/Jul/Aug 1944)......so the only way to see them is at LAC

Or the British National Archives, they would also have a copy.

Another resource is to contact Heritage Canadiana, the firm that is digitizing Canadian records, including war diaires. You could make a request to them to have the Regiments war diaries digitized.

Cheers
